CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/4 c. bran
1 (12 oz.) bag chocolate chips

Mix butter, shortening, sugars, vanilla, salt, and eggs. Add soda, flour, and bran. Mix well. Stir in 12 ounces chocolate chips. Bake at 375 degrees. Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
