D.'S CHILI | |
1 lb. lean hamburger 1 lb. deer or antelope ground meat 23 oz. can Ranch style beans 2 - 15 oz. cans tomato sauce 2 - 16 oz. can stewed tomatoes 2 whole onions, chopped up 2 tbsp. chili powder 2 tbsp. cumin powder 1 tbsp. garlic powder Brown meat with chopped onion; drain off grease. Add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer at least 2 hours. Salt and pepper to taste. To thicken, add cornstarch and water paste. My grandmother in Texas taught me that chili is very good served over spaghetti. Down there this is called Chili Mac. It can also be served over a large bowl of Fritos topped with grated cheese and chopped onions. In Texas this is called a Frito Pie and they are great. |
