APPLE BETTY 
6 med. apples
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. oats, uncooked
1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. water
1/4 c. bottled lemon juice

Wash apples and set aside. Combine butter, sugar, oats and flour in a 2-quart bowl. Mix with pastry blender. Put water in an 8 x 8 1/2 x 2 inch casserole dish. Add thinly sliced apples. After adding each apple, sprinkle with lemon juice. Put oat mixture on top of apples. Place uncovered in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Serves 6.
