CHILI CON CARNE | |
1 c. chopped onion 1 c. chopped celery 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 tbsp. butter 1 lb. ground beef 6 oz. can tomato paste 1 lb. can peeled tomatoes, crushed 1 lb. can kidney or pinto beans 1 med. green pepper, chopped 1 tsp. beef bouillon 1/2 c. water 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 c. shredded mild cheddar cheese to top Cook onion, celery and garlic in butter until tender. Add meat and brown. Stir in remaining ingredients; cover and simmer 30 minutes. Pass the bowl of cheese for each person to serve himself. Serve with crackers or hot flour tortillas and butter. |
