GINGER CAKES 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. Brer Rabbit molasses
1 c. sour milk
4 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. ginger
5 c. flour

Put 2 teaspoons soda in flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda in milk and 1 teaspoon baking soda in molasses. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes. 4 dozen.
