ONION CAKE 
YEAST DOUGH:

1 pkg. yeast
1 c. milk, lukewarm
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 egg, whole
2 tbsp. butter, room temp.

Dissolve yeast in milk. Mix all ingredients and let rise in a clean, covered bowl until it is double in bulk keeping it at lukewarm temperature during the entire time of rising.

ONION FILLING:

4 lbs. onions, cut sm.
1 pt. sour cream
3 eggs, whole
1/2 pt. sweet cream
2 tbsp. salt
Bacon pieces, unfried

While dough is rising, cut onions into small pieces and saute them in bacon fat until tender but not brown. Mix sour cream, eggs and sweet cream together. Add the cooked onions and salt (more if desired). Roll out dough to 3/8" thickness and place in cake tins (this recipe is for 4 cakes). Spread onion mixture over dough. Put little pieces of unfried bacon on top of onion mixture. Bake for about 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
