PIE SLICES (ANY FRUIT)
PIE DOUGH:

12 tbsp. shortening
2 c. flour
4 tbsp. water
Salt
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. white vinegar

Is real short and soft. I often double recipe for dough for either large cookie sheets (does better). Some left for pie shell when doubling.

FILLING: (apple or any fruit)

Apple slices, flour, sugar and cinnamon as for pie. Roll out half of pie dough and place on large sheet cake pan (with sides). Arrange sliced apples, flour, sugar, cinnamon and dots of butter. Place other half of crust over top, seal edges. Bake 15 minutes at 450 degrees, then 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until fruit is done.

While hot, ice with icing: powdered sugar, Carnation milk, and a little vanilla. For apples, use cinnamon. For strawberries, use almond flavoring.
