RAISIN SPICE CAKE 
1 c. raisins
2 c. water
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 c. nuts

FROSTING:

2 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. cream or Pet milk
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Boil the water and raisins for 10 minutes. Add the shortening and cool. Sift together the sugar, flour, soda, and spices. Add to cooled mixture. Beat well and then add beaten egg and beat again. Add the nuts and bake at 325 degrees.

Combine the frosting ingredients and spread over the cake.
