I also add a little orange juice and a little almond extract to mine. I have also added a little amaretto (instead of almond extract). Yum!

I add a little of the juice from a jar of marachino cherries and sometimes garnish the top of the dip with a marchino cherry with stem.

This is a Great basic recipe, but I found it to be quite bland. It needs just a little "something extra." So, building on the idea mentioned by one of the posters of adding a tablespoon of orange juice, I put just a smidgen of PURE orange extract INSTEAD -- actually about 3/8 teaspoon (adding about 1/8th tsp. at a time only--carefully) until it tasted just perfect. It is sitting in the frig overnite -- so will taste it again and see -- it may get just a hint more in the morning. Hopefully this will go over well at the baby shower tomorrow!!
