PIZZELLE 
6 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter, melted
3 1/2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. anise seed

In large bowl, beat eggs. Add sugar gradually. Beat until smooth. Add cooled, melted butter. Stir in vanilla and anise seed. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add to egg mixture. Stir until smooth.

Heat pizzelle iron. Drop one heaping teaspoon batter in center of heated grid. Close iron and count approximately 20 seconds or until steam escapes. Open iron and lift pizzelle with fork. Check for doneness. Should be golden brown and crisp when cooled.
