GINGERBREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 lg. egg or 2 sm. eggs
1 c. molasses
1 c. white sugar
1 level tsp. salt
1 qt. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. allspice
Enough flour to make a batter stiffer than cake dough (about 3 c.) about like pan cake or stiffer

Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Put in large baking pan (13 x 9 inch). Grease and flour pan ahead of time. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 45-50 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
