CHESS PIE OR TARTS | |
2 c. white sugar 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1 tbsp. plain corn meal 1 stick butter, melted 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 tbsp. lemon juice 4 whole eggs, beaten 1/2 c. Pet milk Mix sugar, flour, and meal; add melted butter and cream well. Add beaten eggs with milk, stir well. Add vanilla and lemon juice, beat well. Pour in uncooked tart or pie shells; fill to the top. Bake for 1/2 hour on 375 degrees. Tarts or pies will puff up and be golden brown when done. Makes 15 tarts or 2 pies. Serve plain or with ice cream or Cool Whip. |
