GRANDMOTHER'S CHESS PIE 
4 egg yolks
1 whole egg
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (8 or 9 inch) pie shell, prebaked about 10-12 min. at 400 degrees

Cream butter and sugar well until creamy. Whip egg yolks and egg well and add to creamed mixture. Stir in milk and vanilla. Spoon into prebaked pie shell and bake at 350 degrees until fairly firm. Test after 20 minutes.
