OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. oatmeal
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Pour boiling water over oatmeal; let stand. Cream sugars and butter. Beat eggs into mix. Add vanilla and softened oatmeal. Sift remaining ingredients together. Add to other mixture and blend. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13x2-inch pan.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Leave in pan and pour icing over warm cake.

Icing:

1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
3 tsp. milk
3/4 c. coconut
3/4 c. pecans, chopped

Boil first 3 ingredients together for 1 minute. Add coconut and pecans. Stir well. Remove from heat and pour over warm cake.
