LIME PICKLES 
15 lb. pickles, washed and sliced
2 c. pickling lime
5 qt. vinegar
6 lb. sugar
2 tsp. celery seed
2 tsp. whole allspice
2 tsp. mixed pickling spice
4 tbsp. salt
Green food color

Cover pickles with 2 gallons water, mix in pickling lime. Let stand 24 hours, then drain and rinse with water 4 times. Combine vinegar and spice and food color and bring to a boil. Pour over pickles and let stand overnight. Next morning bring to boil and cook 35 minutes. Pack in jars and seal.
