APPLESAUCE BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. applesauce
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg. Set aside. Cream in large bowl, 1/2 cup butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Add applesauce and walnuts. Mix only until blended. Pour into well greased and floured loaf pan. Push batter up into corners, leaving center slightly hollowed. For well rounded loaf, allow to stand 20 minutes before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes.
