WINTER BIRD TREATS | |
Any fruit left over from canning Apricots plums chokecherries Nanking cherries When I make jelly all the fruit pulp is left over and if I don't plan to use it for something else I would just toss it. I started saving those plastic squares the suet cakes come in from the store for my suet feeder and press the pulp into them, cover with plastic wrap, then freeze for winter. You can pop them out of the plastic and store in plastic bags so you can make more with just a few suet squares. Put in the feeder out of the sun and they will feed any birds that hang around during winter. Fun and cheap! Submitted by: Pam Tessman |
