FANNY FARMER FUDGE | |
1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk 4 1/2 c. sugar Put in a 4-quart kettle or larger. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Boil for a full 10 minutes. (It may get little pieces of brown in it, but that's okay.) 3 (6 oz.) pkg. of Nestle's semi-sweet chocolate chips (do not substitute baking chips for semi-sweet) 1 bar German chocolate 1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks) - Blue Bonnet is the only butter that I have found will work without turning the fudge oily 1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow creme 2 c. nuts 1 tsp. vanilla Beat by hand (the longer you stir, the better). Use a wooden spoon if available. Pour into a 15 x 10 inch if it has high sides, a jelly roll pan or a cake pan. Chill. Yields approximately 5 pounds. Hint: Have all ingredients (except vanilla) in a very large bowl or Dutch oven pan before you start boiling sugar mixture. |
