MILK GRAVY
1/2 c. bacon grease, melted
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 1/2 c. milk and 1 1/2 c. water, mixed together

Combine in a heavy iron skillet the melted bacon grease, flour, salt and pepper. Put on burner and stir mixture until smooth. Let cook for about 1 minute to brown slightly. Pour the water and milk mixture into the skillet all at once.

Stir constantly now until the gravy is at the desired thickness. If you stop stirring, you will have lumpy gravy. Link sausage or chipped beef is good added to the gravy before serving. If too thick, a little more liquid may be added.
