NEW COUNTRY PIE | |
1/2 c. tomato sauce 1/2 c. bread crumbs 1 lb. ground beef 1/4 c. chopped onions 1/4 c. chopped green peppers 1/8 tsp. oregano Salt and pepper Combine all ingredients and mix well. Pat meat mixture in the bottom and around edge of a 9 inch pie pan. Set aside. FILLING: 2 c. cooked rice 1 1/2 c. tomato sauce 1 c. grated cheese 1/2 tsp. salt Combine rice, tomato sauce, and 1/4 cup cheese. Spoon mixture into meat shell. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle the top with remaining cheese. Return to the oven for 15 minutes. Cut into pie shaped wedges and serve hot. |
