CARAMEL SNACK MIX 
1 1/2 c. bite size shredded wheat biscuits
1 1/2 c. round toasted oat cereal
1 c. pretzel sticks, broken
3/4 c. salted peanuts

CARAMEL MIXTURE:

2/3 c. sugar
3/8 c. butter
1/4 c. light corn syrup

Combine cereals, pretzels, and peanuts in large buttered roasting pan.

In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and syrup. Over medium heat, stirring constantly, boil until it reaches soft crack stage on thermometer (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 cup wheat germ. Pour syrup mixture over cereal. Stir. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, stirring once. Pour on large piece of foil. Cool. Break apart. Makes 6 cups.
