MARY MARGARET'S OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. raisins

Cream shortening and sugars. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, salt and soda. Fold into creamed mixture. Stir in oats, nuts and raisins. Roll into balls and place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
