EASY HOMEMADE FLOUR TORTILLAS
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 cup warm water

Combine all the flour, salt, vegetable oil, and water until it forms a dough.

Roll the dough into a big ball and take about an 1 to 2 inch pieces off. Pat the dough flat with your hands or take a rolling pin and roll into circles.

Put the dough on a flat pan on the stove and let the sides cook until there are little brown specks on both sides like you would see on other tortillas.

Easy Homemade Flour Tortillas

Absolutely horrible. The flavor was so bad we had to throw out the entire batch. We tried different thicknesses and temperatures, yet it remained uncooked in the center and crispy on the outside. No offense to the submitter of the recipe but without alteration to the recipe it is simply unedible.

Thanks for the recipe. My ma used to make them all the time. Shes 87 yrs old and isn't able to do it anymore. So I got the craving and tried it on my own, they didn't come out round like my maz, but delicious just the same. I substituted manteca (pork fat) for the shortening and added a piece of American cheese. Mmmm mmmm good! Thanks again.

This was easy. I used only soft wheat pastry flour, so 100% whole wheat. I also used olive oil. I rolled it out between two sides of a ziplock bag. I did have to adjust the water since my flour is so much less dense than anything store bought. I made enchilada's out of them.

Very good and easy recipe! My Mexican bf loved them...only thing I might change is the oil...I think it would be better with lard...although not as healthy ;)
