BAKED POTATO DUMPLINGS AND SOUR
KRAUTE
 
1 sm. roast of pork
1 pkg. or can of kraute, rinse well

Add roast and boil about 1 1/2 hours. Ad enough water to keep real moist.

DUMPLINGS:

6 potatoes, med. boiled and mashed

To this, add:

1 egg
2 c. bread crumbs or six slices bread, preferred moistened
2 c. flour
Salt to taste

Mix well. boil in boiling water until done, about 10 minutes. Teat a dumpling to make sure they hold together. Put kraute and roast in roasting pan. Lay dumplings over the top of kraute and pork. Bake in 375 degree oven until golden brown. This is really delicious.

BISCUITS OR SHORT CAKE:

Mix 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 3 tablespoons sugar, 6 tablespoons shortening, add milk to soften and 1 egg beaten, 4 teaspoons baking powder. Bake at 410 degrees about 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. P.S. Add baking powder to dry mixture.
