CRACKLIN BREAD 
1 c. meal
1 c. self-rising flour
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
2 full c. cracklins without skins

Soak cracklins in warm water while stirring meal and flour. Add egg, salt, and water enough to mix. Add cracklins last. Put about 3 or 4 tablespoons grease in 9 x 13 inch pan and heat in 400 degree oven until very hot. Pour mixture into pan. Bake until brown 25 to 30 minutes.
