MRS. BANCROFTS ORANGE DROP
COOKIES
 
2/3 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 tbsp. orange rind
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix shortening, sugar and egg. Stir in juice and rind. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Frost when cooled, with following:

2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tsp. butter
1 tsp. orange rind
2 tsp. orange juice
