3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
3/4 lb. butter

Cream butter and add sugar. Add egg and vanilla and flour. Roll dough into balls and flatten down with fork; brush top with beaten egg whites and sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
