2 sticks butter
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. sour milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
5 to 5 1/2 c. flour

Melt butter, add sugar and eggs; mix well. Add sour milk, sift dry ingredients together and add to other mixture until you have soft stiff dough. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight, then roll out and cut. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes and decorate. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
