MUM'S APPLE CRISP 
5 lg. apples (tart variety), peeled and sliced
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 c. oatmeal (quick oatmeal)
Cinnamon
Lemon juice or water

Place apples in 9 x 9 inch baking dish in single layer. Sprinkle top of apples with cinnamon. In saucepan, melt butter and add sugar. Stir together. Add oatmeal to above mixture. Spread over apples. Sprinkle top with lemon juice or water.

Bake at 350 degrees until apples are soft and liquid mixture begins to bubble. Serve plain or a la mode with your favorite ice cream.
