BEEF & BROCCOLI PIE | |
Plain pastry for a double crust pie 1 lb. ground beef 1/4 c. chopped onion 2 tbsp. flour 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. garlic salt 1 1/4 c. milk 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 1 beaten egg 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli, cooked & well drained 4 oz. American cheese Milk Prepare and roll out pastry. Line a 9 inch pie plate with half of the pastry. in skillet, cook meat and onion until brown and onion is tender. Drain fat, stir in flour, salt and garlic salt. Add the 1 1/4 cups milk and cream cheese. Cook, stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly. Stir 1 cup of mixture into beaten egg. Return to hot mixture and cook for 1 to 2 minutes more. DO NOT BOIL. Stir in broccoli. Spoon into pie plate. Arrange cheese slices on top. Add top crust; seal edges. Brush top crust with a little milk. Slit top crust. Cover edge of crust with foil. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove foil and bake 20 to 25 minutes more. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. |
