HOMEMADE GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
CAKE: 2 c. sugar 2 c. flour 1 heaping tsp. cinnamon 1 c. water 4 tbsp. cocoa 2 sticks butter 3/4 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda 2 slightly beaten eggs FROSTING: 1 stick butter 4 tbsp. cocoa 1/3 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (1 lb.) box 10X sugar Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix in bowl 2 cups sugar, 2 cups flour and 1 heaping teaspoon of cinnamon. In 2 quart pan bring to boil 1 cup water, 4 tablespoons cocoa and 2 sticks butter. Then add to flour mixture; blend well. Then add 1 teaspoon of baking soda dissolved in 3/4 cup buttermilk, then add 2 slightly beaten eggs. Cook for 25 to 35 minutes. FROSTING: Bring to boil butter, cocoa and milk. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Refrigerate. |
