1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. water or milk
1/4 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and bring to boiling, stirring until thick. This sauce is delicious served over home baked apple pie, sprinkle with cinnamon or fresh grated nutmeg. This is great served over warm fruit pies, bread pudding and pumpkin pie.
