CRANBERRY-APPLE-WALNUT PIE | |
6 lg. Cortland apples, peeled & sliced 2 c. coarsely chopped fresh cranberries 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. sugar 3 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cinnamon 3 tbsp. flour 3 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. sugar Toss, first 7 ingredients together in a large bowl to mix well. Place in unbaked 10 inch pie shell. Mix separately, the remaining flour, butter and sugar; crumble this mixture over the apple-cranberry mixture. Bake pie in a preheated oven at 450 degrees for 15 minutes; lower heat to 350 degrees and bake for 30 additional minutes. Remove from oven and cool. This recipe won first prize in the Plymouth Area Cranberry Challenge sponsored by Ocean Spray's Cranberry World. |
