RUSSIAN TEA CAKES | |
1 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/4 c. plain flour 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. finely chopped nuts Cream together the first 3 ingredients. Then add flour and salt; mix thoroughly. Add nuts. Shape into 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheet 1 inch apart. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Roll in powdered sugar while warm. After cookies are cool, roll in powdered sugar again. Note: Omit nuts and add 1 cup of coconut and 1 tablespoon grated orange peel to make orange balls. |
