TASTY "HEALTHWISE" MEATLOAF | |
2 lbs. ground turkey 3/4 c. rolled oats or bread crumbs 1 lg. onion, minced (approximately 1 c.) 4 oz. Egg Beaters 1/2 c. celery, diced sm. 3/4 c. crushed tomatoes, canned or fresh 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. dried basil 1 tsp. dried parsley 2 cloves garlic, crushed Combine and mix all ingredients. Form into a loaf. Place in baking dish approximately 9x11 inches. Spray dish lightly with Pam. Bake at 350 degrees approximately 75 minutes. Makes 6-8 servings. NOTE: My original recipe had 1 1/2 pounds ground beef with 1/2 pound ground pork. The turkey has much less fat and will taste like veal. Also, I substitute the Egg Beaters for 2 whole fresh eggs. Salt was cut by half. |
