WALNUT SHORTBREAD 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 c. ground walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl with electric mixer at high speed, beat butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Blend in flour at low speed. Press dough firmly into ungreased 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle with walnuts. Score to surface into 2 inch squares. Bake 30 minutes or until firm to touch. While hot, cut squares through. Cool completely in pans on racks. Store in airtight container.
