THUMBPRINT COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 c. chopped pecans

FROSTING:

3 c. powdered sugar
6 tbsp. softened butter
1 tsp. vanilla
3-4 tbsp. milk
Food coloring of choice

Cream butter and powdered sugar. Add vanilla. Mix in flour. Add nuts. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough into balls (about size of walnut). Depress center with finger and bake on lightly greased cookie sheet for about 20 minutes. Bottom of cookie will be light brown. Fill center of cookie with powdered sugar frosting when cool. Mix frosting ingredients together. Cookies freeze well. Frost when thawed.
