CHERRY-COCONUT BARS 
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. confectioners sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. coconut
1/2 c. quartered maraschino cherries

Mix butter, flour and confectioners sugar until smooth. Spread thin with the fingers in an 8 or 9-inch square pan.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Mix the rest of the ingredients together and spread over the top of the baked pastry.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
