1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream together sugar, salt and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Add remaining ingredients.

Bake at 375°F on ungreased cookie sheet for 7 to 8 minutes, roll in balls and dip in sugar.
