PICKLED PEACHES AND PEARS | |
29 oz. can peach halves 29 oz. can pear halves 1 c. apple cider Vinegar 1 c. sugar Peel of 1 orange cut into strips 2 sticks cinnamon 1 tsp. whole cloves 1/2 tsp. whole allspice Drain peach and pear halves, reserving 1 cup syrup. Cut each peach and pear in half lengthwise; set aside. In a medium saucepan combine the 1 cup of syrup, vinegar, sugar, orange peel strips, cinnamon, cloves and allspice. Bring to a boil stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Add peach and pear pieces. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 more minutes. Remove from heat and let cool. Refrigerate overnight or up to 5 days. Makes 8 servings. |
