BRISKET OF BEEF 
1 (4 lb.) beef brisket
2 med. onions, chopped
4 bay leaves
1/2 tsp. cayenne
Salt and pepper to taste
1 c. ketchup
2 c. water
Garlic salt

Boil onions, bay leaves, and cayenne in small amount of water until onions are soft. Add salt, pepper, and ketchup. Stir in 2 cups water and bring to a boil.

Sprinkle brisket with garlic salt, place in a roasting pan, and pour sauce over meat. Roast, uncovered, at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Turn meat and continue roasting another hour. Cover pan and roast 1 hour more or until tender.
