BANANA NUT CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs, slightly beaten
3 mashed bananas
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
4 tbsp. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. broken pecans
1 c. shredded coconut

Cream butter and sugar; add beaten eggs. Stir in bananas, mashed with a fork. Sift soda and flour together and add alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla. Fold in pecans and coconut. Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes in a long cake pan or 2 (8" or 9") pans. Frost with Banana Nut Frosting.

BANANA NUT FROSTING:

1/4 lb. butter
1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar
1 mashed banana
1 c. broken pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter and the box of powdered sugar. Add the mashed banana, pecans, coconut and vanilla. Mix well and frost cake.
