PERFECT BROWNIES 
2 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts; optional

Melt chocolate over hot water. Thoroughly cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Blend in melted chocolate, vanilla, and flour. Mix nuts in batter or sprinkle them on top after batter is poured in pan.

Pour batter into greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake in slow oven (325 degrees) 35 minutes. Makes 12 brownies.
