CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE 
4 strips bacon
1 onion, chopped
Garlic powder
Salt
6 lg. carrots, cut up
4 lg. potatoes, cut up
3 heads cabbage, cut up
2 can corned beef

Cut up bacon into small pieces and fry in a large pot until browned. Add chopped onion and saute well. Clean and cut up carrots and potatoes; set aside. Cut up cabbage and rinse well; add to the onion and bacon mixture along with the carrots and potatoes. Also add salt and garlic powder to taste. Cover and steam until carrots are done, then add the corned beef and steam until corned beef is done. Serve over rice or with cornbread.
