BUTTERMILK PIE 
2 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk or 1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 unbaked pie shell (9")

Crumble sugar, flour and shortening together, take out 1/2 cup of crumbs. Add buttermilk and soda to the remainder. Mix well. Pour into crust; sprinkle 1/2 cup crumbs over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
