1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring, optional
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 bag of colored lollipops
(or you may use your favorite sugar cookie recipe, chilled!)

Mix sugar and butter. Mix in egg and flavorings. Blend dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours. Roll dough into strips about 1/4 inch thick. Put aluminum foil on cookie sheets. Make sure pieces connect well for strength. Finely crack up lollipops and sprinkle pieces into opening in cookie dough design. Bake at 375 degrees about 8 to 10 minutes. Cool well before peeling off aluminum foil.
