RED CABBAGE 
1 head red cabbage, sliced thin
2 onions, sliced
2 apples, cored and sliced
1/2 c. red current jelly
1 bay leaf
Salt, dash of pepper
3 oz. vinegar
1/4 c. water

Cook cabbage with the bay leaf and onion in water until just barely done, adding more water if necessary. Add apples, jelly, salt and pepper and simmer a few more minutes. Remove the bay leaf and serve hot.
