BEEF EMPANADAS 
5 lb. lean ground beef
1 tsp. each garlic and onion powder
1 1/2 tsp. each salt and pepper
2 yellow onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 tsp. ground cumin
2 tbsp. Taco seasoning

Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Sauté the meat mixture over medium high in a large Dutch oven until browned lightly but still medium done (it will finish cooking in the empanadas). Add any desired extras like sieved hard-boiled eggs, olives, or chopped raisins. Wrap meat filling in a flour tortilla based dough or use calzone dough.

Bake in a preheated 400°F oven on a greased baking sheet (about 20 minutes or until golden) or deep fry until center is heated through and done.
