Old Fashioned Vinegar Pie

My kith and kin hailed from Indian Territory before it was the state of Oklahoma. This is the Vinegar Pie receipe I remember from earliest childhood. Granddad always loved playing the "Which fruit is it?" game with us "youngins." If he asked us to imagine peach, the Vinegar Pie tasted just like peach pie. If he said apple, it WAS an apple pie, and so on. Didn't work well with imagining berries, though. Thanks for the fond memories.

My grandmother was from Missouri and except for the amount of sugar, it basically the same. Must be an inherited taste, my grand kids love it, not so much the in-laws.. LOL
