STICKY BUNS 
1 c. scalded milk (cooled)
2 tbsp. shortening
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 sm. yeast cake
1/4 c. warm water
1 well beaten egg
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. maple syrup
4 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. brown sugar
Cinnamon

Combine milk, shortening, sugar, salt and heat until shortening melts. Add yeast softened in warm water. Add egg. Gradually stir in flour to make soft dough. Cover and let rise about 2 hours. Divide into 2 parts. Roll out each part on a floured surface, forming rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.

Spread with enough melted butter to cover 2/3 of dough, then sprinkle with cinnamon. Roll up jelly roll fashion and cut into about 12 slices. Place each slice on top of syrup in pan. Syrup is made from remaining butter and maple syrup, topped with brown sugar. Bake until golden. Remove from oven and immediately place cookie sheet over pan and turn upside down and allow to stand 10 minutes before removing pan.
